Inspired by art, travel, philanthropy and the love of fresh home-made food, Lost + Found Cafe gives you a space to day-dream about far-away places while sipping excellent coffee or a cup of Ranjana’s chai. Started by Kane Ryan (world traveller and founder of the Dirty Wall Project – a Canadian non-profit with charitable projects in India) and his wife, Salomeh Jalali, (graphic designer/marketing director), the large space is filled with travel books and local art. Documentaries play on a large screen and a small retail section is filled with products made by NGO’s from around the world with all profits to benefit charity. Located in downtown Vancouver where picturesque Gastown merges with the gritty downtown east side, the cafe attracts locals and tourists, painters and writers, photographers and travel enthusiasts and anyone looking to get lost in a comfy corner of the vast, bohemian space. At night the space transforms into an event space for up to 150 people. With a combination of expertise and creative energy, Kane and Salomeh assist customers with events such as art openings, evenings of music, talks, travel photography shows and cocktail parties for any occasion. Lost + Found Cafe has found a niche in the downtown Vancouver community, providing good food and great coffee, where philanthropy and creativity meet.
